New Incremental Patch: Tubruq and more!

Post by IV/JG7_4Shades »

Hi Everyone,

I have just released a new (incremental) patch to SEOW. Apart from including EJgr.Ost_Chamel's wonderful Tubruq sector (based on the MTO map of the 4.09b IL2 patch), the new patch release also contains an important new set of tools for multi-sector campaigning. Here are the details:

Release Notes
This release is an incremental patch: the applying the MP patch files to an existing MP4 v4.389 install will increment the version to v4.396. The SEDB31cnew DB files contain SQL and Access files that reflect the changes listed below. A key feature is a revised Object_Specifications table. Both MP4 v4.396 and SEDCS v3.1.5 uses attack ranging code that requires the presence of the new Object_Specifications table.

Software Requirements
The new SEOW system requires the following free software installs:

Mission Planner v4.396
- PHP4 or PHP5 (server side)
- Internet Explorer 6/7, or Firefox with IE plug-in (client-side)

SEDCS v3.1.5 (32-bit binary only)
- MyODBC-v3.51.12 or later
- .NET Framework 2.0

SEDB31c (new)
The SEDB31-series databases are available in MySQL4/MySQL5 and MSAccess2003+ flavours, and both flavours interoperate seamlessly with the other MP and DCS software components. Starting with this release, the SEDB is downloaded as a combined ZIP file, containing the MSAccess database PLUS all MySQL script files. The MySQL files are "Lite" databases for each sector, plus the full multi-sector "Reference" MySQL database.

Change List

SEDCS v3.1.5
* Reworked Artillery Range logic. Now the Artillery Range slider (Combat Environments tab) offers three different ranging modes. A slider value of zero yields a set of (typically short) engagement ranges for all artillery pieces that yield excellent playability and FPS but retain proper battlefield behaviour (e.g. tanks out-range MGs), as optimized by II/JG3K.Brandle. A slider value of 100 yields the actual IL-2 game engagement ranges (long) for each artillery type (tough on game performance). Any other slider value is converted into a percentage and applied to the actual IL-2 ranges, allowing engagement distances to be scaled back whilst retaining battlefield behaviour. This feature requires the SEDB31c "new" Object_Specifications table.

MP4 v4.396, including Statistics v1.90
* SEOW Forums link changed to reflect the new SEOW Forum address.
* Corrected speed calculations for shipping and army units (RAF23_Kapt)
* Corrected factory target data structure builder (=69.GIAP=VLADI)
* Corrected ship Task Force speeds.
* Support for Tubruq sector (EJgr.Ost_Chamel)
* Corrected multiple SUPPLYDROP tasks (BS8th_Bulau)
* Corrected FlightSpeed usage for inoperative airbases.
* Added code to extract Engagement Range data from Brandle's new Object_Specifications fields and the old CS_Artillery_Range setting, and to show the attack ranges for qualifying units in the MP. (II/JG3K.Brandle)
* Added context menu function to withdraw surface units near supply points (decommissioning the flotillas/platoons, placing the objects into the reinforcement pool and adding any supplies carried to the OffMap Reserves).
* Added context menu to draw a circle showing the engagement/attack range of a selected artillery unit (II/JG3K.Brandle)
* Added a new feature set to support multi-sector campaigning. This feature is accessed using the new "General HQ" link on the header bar on the MP front page - standard MP "admin" password by default. The admin user can now create "Sector Operations Groups" that group multiple sectors into multi-sector campaigns, allowing reinforcements and supply reserves to be moved between sectors quickly and easily via web forms. See http://seowwiki.swil.fr/index.php?title ... ampaigning for more information.
*) Fixed Statistics MissionDetails script for MSAccess DB (RAF23_Kapt)

SEDB31cnew (structure and data changes)
* StudebeckerTruck mobile form changed to ZIS5 in Object_Specifications
* Tubruq data load (EJgr.Ost_Chamel)
* Revised Engagement Range data and model, extra field in Object_Specifications (II/JG3K.Brandle)
* Bridge and Highways updates for Smolensk (Paddington)
* Revised Airbases and Highways for Ostfriesland (BS8th_Bulau)
* Revised Resupply_Points table

Downloads are available at the usual place.
