Recommendations on a Web Server

I need advice on which web server platform to select to use with SEOW.
Windows XP 32 bit , and a computer challenged user.

XAMPP is a reasonable option. Security is a concern if hosting on your local network, but you can deal with it. If you hosting on an XP machine you will have to reboot it fairly frequently, not a big deal but can be annoying. I hosted on my local network for a few years but found it to be a lot of bother so I eventual rented web space to put the MP on.
