Bridge Weight Limits - is this possible?

Post by Kopfdorfer »

I was just surfing over at SAS , and saw a request for a JagdTiger TD.
The light immediately started flashing in my head.
Firstly does IL2 include a weight consideration in its Vehicle properties file?
Secondly , if so , how difficult would it be to apply weight restrictions to bridges in SEOW?

This would be a very realistic application for SEOW that would have commanders reconsidering the usage of Panther (44.8 tonnes) vs TigerI(56.9 tonnes), and Tiger II (68.5 tonnes) and T34/41(26.5 tonnes) , T34/43 ( 30.9 tonnes) , T34/85 (32 tonnes) vs IS2 (46 tonnes).

Just wondered if this might interest anyone else , and whether it might be possible.

Using the actual database, 2 kinds of bridges are defined (wooden and metal as the in-game bridges) This could be a nice feature, allowing wooden bridges only to light tanks. In reality I think it would be difficult to add this feature in some cases, e.g. Task Forces including different kinds of tanks.
Only 4Shades could give a realistic opinion on this.^^

May not be too difficult, but the core implementation would be a DCS code feature, rather than an MP code feature.

I like the idea.
