Looking to fly with someone

Hey guys,
Im new to SEOW, but not to IL2. I have been flying in Forgotten Skies for the last 2 years and now due to my work schedule changing I'm forced to find another way to help with my addiction to this awesome game. Anyway I would love to fly with some of you guys to get a feel for this SEOW stuff. I have been talking to IIJG3K_Brandle who has been a great help. I just want to see how this stuff works. I fly axis and I'm a 109 pilot. If there are squads out there that will fly this weekend I can make it for a session. Please let me know thanks for your time.

Sorry to hear about your work schedule issues. I know that there are quite a few squadrons that fly SEOW. So hopefully one better suited to your preferrences will no doubt turn up.

I am with the VMF-124 The Deathheads Squadron. A virtual Squadron based on the real VMF-124 USMC Squadron that flew in '42. We are Pacific Theater.

Feel free to check us out, our pilots fly just about everyday, with Training Nights on Tuesdays and our SEOW missions on Fridays.

Hey Guys I fly axis planes mainly german ones. Is there any German SEOW Squadrons out there....I would like to fly with them a few times to see if I like SEOW 1st....Thanks for any responses ahead of time....

Salute Badger, the LW-10 group, comprised of JG/KG/STG10 squadrons is a blue SEOW squad. We do not have a current active campaign, but we are setting up our own SEOW server. We frequently enlist the support of mercenary pilots such as yourself. Feel free to visit and register at our forums.

Shades, apologies for this noob question, but where do you guys fly? When do you fly? Do I have to be a member of a sqn or can I fly as an individual? I am new to this SEOW thing, as in one day new!! So I don't have a clue what is what. I have a lot of experience on IL-2. Been flying on the WarbirdsofPrey servers and the likes. Not much good at it but I get my kills every now and then. Would like to get into SEOW stuff but I am a bit of a lone wolf. I never fly with team mates. No reason realy except that I have never done it and therefore isn't used to it. Lastly do I have to download anything before being able to play?

Hi Blade,

SEOW isn't an online war, rather it is a system for running online wars. Therefore, every different person or group that uses SEOW to run a campaign will have their own schedule, style and ruleset.

I presently am involved in a set of campaigns run through SEOW HQ. We run these missions involving a small set of players from Europe, Australia and USA. Anyone is welcome (squad members, lone wolves, anyone) as long as they get involved and help. Our major campaign at the moment is Taifun (October 1941 in Moscow, Smolensk and Kursk, 3 sectors!), and it uses advanced SEOW settings for the campaign, and is demanding on pilots. No extra software is required to take part, although we seem to be gravitating towards the HistorySFX mod because it is relatively stable and gives us the ability to fly recon, transport and bombing missions in relevant airframes which are important in the Taifun context.

Taifun times are negotiable and tend to concentrate around the weekends. If a Taifun mission is not due, then we often run smaller campaigns for feature testing, e.g. the recent Berlin '44 level bombing mini-campaign. The big thing here is that SEOW is all about coops, very different to dogfight servers. The way we use SEOW takes the coop realism to an extreme in an attempt to recreate the feel of the battleground environment. Maybe this will interest you.

Of course, there are other SEOW campaigns around, including the RAF74 Dieppe Campaign, the 69GIAP Stalingrad and Kyushu campaigns, the big 22GCT/102nd/242 Mediterranean multisector campaign. All these have different styles.
