Time ago I did some tests with an Arado float plane, taking off or better, beeing catapulted from a battleship. In the FMB you can place the spawn point at certain position and altitude on the catapult of the ship and a second waypoint perpendicular to her route (facing the board). Set the speed as high as possible (250-300 km/h) and once the mission starts, you and your plane will start leaving the ship's catapult perpendicularly, very low over the water. The effect is pretty good if you turn your head back and see the battleship steaming away.
Probably a spawn point can be placed over the ship to simulate the launch at the mission start.
