Re: . . . and Another

Greetings from hot WA. A little bit of snow would be welcome here!
Scannon is close to starting his Citadel campaign. Should be some interesting missions there.

Re: HSFX7 Attack Ranges

The other thing that you need to consider is the ship "targeting" code of IL-2. It does not work the way you might think, i.e. ballistic ranging, straddling, then fire for effect. Instead it appears to have a very random/probabilistic nature, so over a reasonable amount of time there will ...

Re: HSFX7 Attack Ranges

Hi Emmett, Sorry that it has taken so long to reply, I have been a little distracted. It is always best to be specific; please tell me the exact ship objects that you are referring to. In general technics.ini and ships.ini editing is usually a matter of changing one thing at a time, then starting HS...

Re: Adler Tag

SEOW Wiki on Factory Plates: https://seowhq.net/seowwiki-en/index.php?title=Factory_Production_and_Reinforcements Very easy to use. Just follow the instructions. Map objects: these are usually not enabled for combat functions. For instance, trees and farmhouses do not log destruction or damage even...

Re: Operation Cobra July 1944

I once stayed at a beautiful old chateau on the Vire a few km NW of St Lo. Lovely country, but it was a different story in 1944.

Re: Zhitomir Campaign concludes

First things first. We need to keep playing Brandle's Azovskoye scenario to conclusion, so anyone is welcome to take part in that as a training exercise (there is a lot to learn). Please let us know when you are available to take part. Typically we meet weekend mornings and evenings in my TZ (GMT+8)...

Re: Zhitomir Campaign concludes

Not so fast Emil! :D Nothing happens here without work being done. Apart from Brandle's test campaign in Azovskoye, which has only 4 or 5 more missions to run, nothing else is ready. Simple new campaigns can be set up pretty quickly in principle, but everyone needs to contribute to that effort in so...

Re: Zhitomir Campaign concludes

Hi Emil,
It was great. And the ground system is much more compelling now.

We could do it again, but there are many other options for campaigns that we haven't even considered yet. And Scannon is preparing Operation Citadel (south) at the moment.

Cheers

Re: Road to Rangoon 1942 Campaign Build Underway

Interesting. In addition , tonnage of Allied supplies destroyed could be an interesting objective as well. I am not sure what you mean by "tonnage". We can easily calculate tonnage of materiel (combat units/objects) destroyed but the system does not keep good track of fuel supply so it wou...

Re: HSFX7 Attack Ranges

And here is some information on what stationary units killed tanks in the combined Korosten & Zhitomir scenarios, and at what ranges. Excluded are tank kills by moving objects (chiefs, aircraft). Max gun ranges were set in the Korosten Mod technics file.

Re: Zhitomir Campaign concludes

Here is my assessment of the campaign outcome in simple military terms. PzAOK4 Campaign Objectives : * Maintain German forces west of Kiev with a viable fighting force - at least 50% initial capital strength (measured in points) - until 1900 hours on 31 December 1943 FAILED (forces reduced to 17% in...

Zhitomir Campaign concludes

Hi everyone, This weekend we played the last mission in the Korosten - Zhitomir campaign, 81 combat missions and 1 clock advance in all, starting all the way back on 28 April 2013! Thanks to all who participated along the way and those happy few who stayed the course. This was the most realistic, gr...
