. . . and Another

Greetings again from snowy Nova Scotia.
Just got back after 2 months on the run.
Looks quiet around here.
Any of you old hacks still flying ?
Hope all are well.

Re: Adler Tag

Well some messing with the static.ini and the technics.ini ( by someone cleverer than me)
and we have a working repair for the CHH and CHL radar objects.
Now I have to figure out how to alter the entries ( and which entries ) in the SEDB to make them fully active.
Stand By.

Operation Cobra July 1944

Operation Cobra ( OC ) was General Bradley's plan to break out of the Norman bocage country. Having finally reached the city of St. Lo in late July 1944 , the US 1st Army was poised to smash the German 7th Armee between Coutances - St.Lo - Vire - Avranches , and turn the corner towards Paris (east) ...

Re: Adler Tag

Well , the implementation of historical Radar positions using HSFX has proved problematic at best. Tests showed that the Chain Home High and Chain Home Low radar objects on the Channel 40 map in historical positions are indestructible in regular game play. At first I thought that since they were act...

Adler Tag

In an effort to continue my "Learning" style campaigns for fledgeling SEOW commanders , and expand the use of possibilites that SEOW makes available , the next Mini Campaign will (probably) be "Adler Tag". Adler Tag ( Eagle Day) August 13 , 1940 The Luftwaffe finally unleashes it...

Re: Central Med Teaching Campaign

Central Med 1942 Teaching Campaign is complete. 6/6 Mission were flown. I (Kopfdorfer ) acted as the Admin - with notable assistance from AH_Kawilder , CSThor , and 4Shades to get over my technical hurdles. 11th Frog was the Allied Commander , and Emmett Grogan was the Axis Commander. Neither had ev...

Central Med Teaching Campaign

In the near future ( two weeks , of course !) I will be hosting a very short ( 1 Day , 6 Missions) simple campaign designed for new commanders to cut their teeth on. The unit types will be streamlined , and the Victory Conditions will be simple and free of nuance. The Scenario is Central Med , March...

Re: Road to Rangoon 1942 Campaign Build Underway

My intent was to reflect some of the historical circumstances unfolding. The British were under no illusion that the Japanese would take Rangoon. However , Rangoon was the major storage depot for the entire region , including resources intended for both China and India , as well as Burma. Literally ...

Re: Road to Rangoon 1942 Campaign Build Underway

Okay . I am calling this campaign "Road to Rangoon" , or RtR for a good short acronym. I have a fairly precise OOB worked out which I will be holding to quite closely. Now I need to establish good clear Objectives for both sides that reflect the historical situation , but also allow for fl...

Road to Rangoon 1942 Campaign Build Underway

Hey Guys, Despite my presence being elswewhere , my thoughts have been percolating with SEOW campaign ideas for some time now. Thanks to the work of AH_kawilder , I have another database to muck up. The concept is the Japanese advance on Rangoon in the early spring of 1942. Following the fall of Sin...

Re: HSFX7 Attack Ranges

This is a very interesting study.
Hopefully it will lead to designers being able to manipulate these values to suit their
campaign design needs.

Sorry I didn't notice it earlier.

Re: Fall Schwarz 1943 Anti-Partizan Campaign

Time to breath a little life into Fall Schwarz. OOBs fairly established - amended list will follow. 4Shades has written a little code to allow active airbases and infrastructure that are concealed to the opponent unless reconned. I have decided to attempt the multiple objective concept , that is , a...

Re: attention SEOWHQ Mission Planner down

Yes this happened to a unit I was commanding a few turns ago (a single Tiger tank in the Studency-Zhitomir Airfield area of the map - I don't know how to recall any but the immediately previous mission or I would provide unit details).
I assumed it was operator error.
