Re: Plotting Moves in the Combined IL2/Arma Campaign

The drive to work is a good analogy. Thank you for the info regarding turning off the MetaMap and Exclusion Zone. I was unaware of this function. Perhaps I should have noticed the change in the tool tips but I did not. When I consulted the Wiki I did not find any reference to turning the MetaMap or ...

Re: Plotting Moves in the Combined IL2/Arma Campaign

Apologies if my comments ruffled feathers. I am throwing out thoughts and observations - clearly some may be valid , others not. For those that are based in my ignorance of the system , each time they are answered , my knowledge accumulates. No questions and answers , no accumulation of knowledge. M...

Re: Plotting Moves in the Combined IL2/Arma Campaign

I am looking at the remaining IF map (Dabryn) on the Zhitomir Campaign Map and have some more thoughts on this issue. I am biased as my inclination is to withdraw all Axis forces in this area to a more defensible one further west. Further , a couple of my own units are "trapped" in an IF W...

Plotting Moves in the Combined IL2/Arma Campaign

This is pursuant to a conversation with 4Shades and JG26 Badger the other night. In dealing with the combined campaign concept with both IL2 and Arma scenario resolution activated some problems arise insofar as thinking as an overall campaign commander are concerned. If the Arma maps are activated a...

Fall Schwarz 1943 Anti-Partizan Campaign

Greetings Everyone, After getting into Sittang River Bridge and finding map issues I am unable to fix , especially considering that the title bridge was one of the discrepancies, I have decided to cut my losses in Burma (for now) and move on to other theatres. The winning candidate for its replaceme...

Next Up - Battle for the Sittang River Bridge Feb 1942

Hey Guys , I have cast the die. I will develop the Battle for the Sittang River Bridge over 21-23 Feb 1942 , which features an ascending Imperial Japanese Army pushing hard through Lower Burma for the Port and Industrial City of Rangoon. The ground forces are relatively small , about a Division on e...

Re: Parkers Crossroads is wrapped up

I agree with your assessments 4Shades, but I should also point out that in terms of point 5) , nearly all the Allied units posted around Bastogne were for over 75% of the Campaign Missions , in "Dormant" mode , and therefore the Allied command could only keep them in supply , and not plot ...

What's Next ?

I have a few ideas for the next campaign to design. Believe it or not , I do have a list of personal learning objectives that drive my choices of which campaign to do next. I have selected theatres and operations which each feature a different facet of SEOW that I wish to (begin to ) understand. I a...

Parkers Crossroads is wrapped up

Greetings All, The Campaign for Parkers Crossroads is wrapped up. As the sun plummeted from the winter sky over the snowy Ardennes , the little hamlet at Baraque de Fraiture was , finally in German hands. Throughout the Ardennes , German and American units of all descriptions were strung out on the ...

Correction of Carried Supply Settings

Hey All, After monitoring the campaign to date I have realized that the effective movement of units and use of supply was insufficient in the campaign design. In addition , my distribution of a coherent transport weight to available transport was set either at impossible weights and capacities , or ...

The night turns are behind us.
Next turn is 0700 hrs Dec 23 1944 , with the weather forecast to be clearing throughout the day.
Those ground units starved of fuel are in for a rough day!
