Sector Agreements

Post by IV/JG7_4Shades » Fri Feb 26, 2010 11:32 pm

Hi guys,

There has been some recent discussion regarding sector-specific agreements being brokered between Sector Commanders, typically governing things like disengagement rules, pilot naming etc. Maybe some clarification is needed.

As a piece of software, SEOW allows a large range of settings to be established to control how the campaign proceeds (supply, weather, pilot landings, recon, road movement, playability etc etc). These are chosen by the campaign designer(s) (Charlie, Brandle, Warg) and are only rarely changed by these people in response to genuine, unforseen problems. Sector Commanders report issues up the tree to GHQ (Axis or Allied) who then talk to the campaign designers.

Other issues are more local, and for such issues that don't require technical or design changes the Sector COs on both sides need to get together and reach agreeement. Then, having the agreement, they of course will alert all relevant pilots to the agreement and proceed on that basis. It would make sense to publish the agreement in the Global Lounge and in the relevant sector rooms. A simple suggested procedure:

1. Identify Sector COs (Axis/Allied GHQ can assist with names)
2. Negotiate via email/TS.
3. Write the agreement down, including terms of reference for enforcement etc, and get written sign off from each side.
4. Publish in Global Lounge and Sector forums.
5. Proceed!

Cheers,
