Killed or bailed autokicked

Post by 22GCT_Gross » Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:56 am

The DSC equipped servers will automathically kick after 120 seconds each killed or bailed players.
Notice the server warning (second row):

A question: "DSC BLUE" is for all players, regardless of whether they fly blue or red? or should blue pilots type "DSC BLUE" and red pilots type "DSC RED"?

DSC BLUE is working only for the BLUES.
For the REDS the command is DSC RED, but this is not yet enabled for them.

Being a Red player and using the "R" designation I was wondering how the DSC Blue thing works. Do you get prompted for it as you select a slot or must you type it and send it to server then select a slot?

What difference does it make? why do blue have to type 'DSC BLUE' ?

It provides a method of password protection for blue pilots seats.
If you do not enter DSC BLUE command with the password and click on a seat you are automatically kicked.

interesting, but isn't it redundant with the R or B in front of one's name?

As I understand it if a player clicks on the opposing side's slot, accidently or otherwise, he won't be able to see anything or click on the brief, provided he has that R or B.

erm why is this protection only enabled for one side?

Secondly is that level of protection really necesary?

R & B prefixes work well, but it's demanded to the single player.
DSC password is applied to all side despite of prefixes.
As long as R & B is not a rule for all, DSC BLUE command prevent all players to take a blue slot without a password.
It was set some time ago to prevent random clicking and overall to prevent unregistered players are going to take a blue slot.
Of course, DSC passw can be set also on red side, if desired.

So we want to enable te DSC Password procedure on BLUE SIDE in order to prevent these cases.

The DSC feature is available on the servers equipped by the Dedicated Server Controller (rnzoli): 102nd Coop Dedicated and ITA-SEOW; It's not available on the Crimea and Kuban sectors hosted by 69.Giap server.

Ah... Very nice system.
But typing DSC BLUE does not prevent you from looking in the RED's list or does it? What i would really love to see is the ingame plane lists "S" key by default only showing friendlies. That would be the ultimate in immersion.

Without a DSC RED pw set, red slots are not protected.
