Hidden COOP Slots

Post by Flatspin » Mon Dec 14, 2009 12:09 pm

Are we going to use this in any/all of the campaigns? I don't know how to use it yet, or if it would be difficult, but NOT knowing what the enemy brings to the battle at the beginning of the engagement would be a very nice addition to immersion, IMO.

I agree, I like the idea of not seeing what is out there or get an idea of the type of mission the enemy is doing.

What about selective intelligence?

It was not often in real life that you wouldn't know anything at all about the opposition.

Well, we do have a kind of selective intelligence. Looking at the costs table will indicate what technology is available to the enemy at the start of the campaign, we just don't know exactly which they are using and in what numbers.

As the war goes on, that intel sketch will be filled in with details from flown missions, eg: we know the enemy has access to X, X1, and Y2 planes...but we actually see them flying only Y2's.

only saw this now, but I like this also!

any chance of it being used? As I understand it it wouldn't require any DB changes, just a change from the pilot's side, right?

Red Pilots just have to put a R_ in front of their HL names.

Blue pilots a B_. OR if you cennect by Direct IP you have to do this infront of your pilot name.

I am very much in favour of this also. But I did not want to burden players with too much all at once.

We used this in TheSlot last Saturday as there were only a few of us.

The 'ordeal' of getting started is nearly behind us. To start to use this for mission 2's onwards would be a great enhancement IMO.

won't you get a duplicate entry in the stats for each pilot between the missions run before the name change and the ones run after?
