The battle so far

Post by II/JG77Hawk_5 » Sun Sep 18, 2011 6:05 am

Well first bomber missions of B17's and B24's are plotted and have attempted to give two waves in close proximity to simulate a large group.

Any collisions are entirely my fault but hopefully it will be good to fly in.

Two single B25's are flying an overlapping recon of south east coast.

Well the clouds prevented us from seeing too much, but some of the recon photos located a coastal battery, so we can try again soon.

Next flights are in. B17's going for the coastal battery, B24's bombing anything on north end of island. 2 delayed recon flights.

Good luck

Was considering barrage of north side using TF54 but I dont think there's sufficient time to muck about & probably best to move it down the east side , blast anything there & then move it around to the west side while the TF 54 disembark to the island.

What do you think?

Sounds like a plan.

I've released the USS Wisconsin & USS Boston from TF 58 & moved them to north of Iwo to start barrage & away from possibly damaging friendly ships.
Not planned ship TF before  , pls check TF58.1's moves just in case. Start & end of mission(last 20mins) has TF into the wind @ full speed for take offs & landings.
Havent planned flts yet until I see TF 51 movement & El Dorado position.

cheers

Thnx for Wildcats patrol over island & west , just about to ask for it & checked MP.

Will you be enabling Enforce Aircraft Landings for remainder of campaign?

On nightshift this weekend , have fun.

Just discussing the 0900 mission result with Hawk_5.

Well we learnt a big lesson about carrier tasking. We need to make sure the carriers are heading into the wind in a straight line for long enough that aircraft can take off and land safely.

We also need to ensure that recon missions are maintained at a high level.

Cheers,

Just checked 1500hr stats... I thought 5 was flying for the Allied side with the rest of us??

Is the rumour true that he's only allowed in the jeep till campaign ends

You are hurting his feelings. 5 is 5, and 12 is something altogether different. :P

Different yes, but trained by 5 so it's all 5's fault.

PS: I must stop running about like a chook with its head chopped off , slow down & read things more carefully. :)

Well I guess that cuts both ways. If 12 does something fantastic and amazing I'll get the credit for that too!
