Current Campaign Balance

Post by 22GCT_Gross » Fri Mar 16, 2012 8:49 am

The victory is assigned to:
1) The army which controls ALL the CPs at the end of the campaign;
2) If not ALL the CPs are holded by the same army, to the army which have the best balance with regard of the cumulative losses (aircrews not included) and the CP points balance.

At the 9th mission end:

Code: Select all

                         US IJ
----------------------------------------
Losses -160.932 -234.997
CP Saipan US 20.000 -
CP Tinian IJ - 40.000
CP Aijuan US 10.000 -
CP Rota IJ - 60.000
CP Guam US 80.000 -
----------------------------------------
Current Winner US -50.932 -134.997
Contested CPs are assigned to the army with the best cost balance of the objects considered into the CP influence range.
Alternative criterium: CP points assigned to both army as for the rate of cost balance of the objects considered into the CP influence range.

Capital ships sinking and holding the CPs are the keys for winning the campaign.

I want to clearify the following items about win conditions:
- The scores of the contexted CPs scores will be calculated as for the Sum of the cost of the units under the range control and assigned proportionally.
- Disembarkements are allowed after the last mission via MP within 24 hours from the mission launch.

So the winner will be declared 24 hours after the last mission.

I believe Aijuan should be under full US control, it should of been captured several missions ago when we had multiple infantry platoons and a battleship inside the 4km zone, but non-combat units contested the CP.

The axis units contesting the CP are a single coastal watcher and a single observer. Those units in game are wooden boxes. Wooden boxes do not contest CP's!

More importantly neither air nor naval units will fire against the obect that is a coastal watcher or observer. The units can be found in the FMB under the heading of stationary objects. In effect they cannot be destroyed because the small wooden box cannot be seen from the air and grd nor sea units will fire at such objects.

It should of been realised long ago that these units are not combat units and should have no effect on the ownership of a CP

Indeed they do, armed with nothing more than a sextant and a pair of binoculars they hold back an entire regiment of hardened marines

Congratulating with Allied Side for the Victory, we can note really interesting results.

It's funny to observe that if Japaneses sunk the last Troop Transport for Tinian, the relative Points of 40.000 points were not lost, rebalancing the Final Results to -270.000 points for USA and -280.000 points (approx.) for JAPS, reaching an incredible equilibrium, after 16 missions of very hard fight, demostrating the validity of this Campaign Project.

A really good job made by Game Designers just as by Game Master Diego Gross, which tuning some minor defects, has kept the final outcome uncertain until the end of the Game, as in the best Great Games tradition.

Very nice, thank you very much, Guys. Image

It is also funny to note that the transport was sunk with a type that the Jap never used for kamikaze runs due to its high value.
J2M's and N1Ks were not allocated to special attack Sqd (Kamikaze).

But it is even more hilarious to note that the Japanese would have run out of aircrafts before mission 19 and would have not had the chance to sink those transports if Gross hadent infused the axis with more aircrafts.

I suggest a rematch where we switch sides and with the same conditions.
The former allied sider would sure like this challenge

The Intervention of the Admin Diego Gross, who carried the great responsability to operate also in the real difficult role of Game Master, was made also for the Allied Side, in my opinion for right reasons, as well as was made for the JAP side, for balancing the excessive power of allied Planeset and Shipset, without the which, the Campaign were terminated at the 4th mission, after that only 3 Avenger (!?!) sunk 2 Japanese Carriers and, with them, 140 Jap aircraft.

With the Game Master intervention, on the contrary, you all had the possibility to play 16 immersive and hard missions, having the uncertaintess of the Final Results until the end, demostrating with facts and not opinions, that any intervention was really well calibrated, not for giving advantage to a Side, but only to the purpouse of carrying the Campaign to the long duration.

In anycase, due to the fact that in the next Campaign, our side demanded to your Leader Viff to assume this difficult Role of Game Master, you could discuss with him relating this delicate matter and we will observe after the effect of the work made.

For the moment, please Gentlemen keep the discussion on more aseptic and logical way... Thank you for your understanding

Cipson those three Avengers that sunk ONE carrier were 3xEAF pilots. We attacked just one CV. I think you will find that 102nd pilots attacked the other CV.
