I guess that bombers are supposed to be "only bombers designed for that duty" and not fighter bombers even if they are multigengined.

Nights rules apply between dusk and dawn. These are:
1. Plotted flights are halved & add 2 ie Allied 12 ,Axis 22 .
2. Only multiengined bombers and Swordfish (trained for this) can be used.
3. Dedicated nightfighters (Blenheim MkIF & CR.42) are used.(also Fulmar)
4. Nightfighters are single flights .
5. CR.42 restricted to Axis territory.
Bf110 are multiengined and can carry bombs.

Do they comply with with rule 2 when carying bombs?

Nice try but no.
No 110's after dark. Same will apply to Beaufighters when they arrive.

Hi Pete,

I brought this to Emils attention re those 110's... Warg did quote that it was open to negotiation ,see last sentence. Personally I think we'd be worse of giving you the Beau for our 110's but Emils controlling air squadrons now so what do you think.

"These remain the same. Neither the RAF Beaufighters or Luftwaffe Bf-110 Zerstorers are prepared as nightfighters. Only the CR.42 (CN) Falco, Blenheim Mk.IF & Fulmar Mk.I are available and as single flights only. This maybe negotiated sometime later on."

OK then.
If Axis really want 110's for the night I would only accept on the basis of having the Beau's at night as well.

I am not reallly in favour as this does change the campaign significantly. If Axis really want them that badly then ok.

The Beau and 110's are very capable and in the dark could do a disproportionate amount of damage in human hands.

If I recall correctly discussion with Ikey on TS led to confirmation of night rule that NO 110's or Beaufighters may fly at night. Original flight rule stands with exception of the extra couple of planes.

I am comfortable with that interpretation.

Discussed and agreed by Ikey and I.

As Axis forces have landed on Malta the front lines and subsequently Axis home territory is now the front line on the Malta beachhead. This being the case, Axis night fighters treating this front line as home territory are permitted to approach Malta to defend the forces landed there as best they can while still operating under the night rule.
