Re: Rest in Peace, Peter Millar.

G'day, Just returned home from a months holidays and received this distressing news. I never had the good fortune to meet Peter in person. To me, he was always Pete or Hawk5, that great guy, smart, intelligent, generous and compassionate bloke that was always up for a fly or a chat on Teamspeak. He ...

Bomber Missions and Industrials

G'day 4Shades, I thought it'd be advisable to flesh out the idea which I broached with you on TS last night. That is, regarding numbers of aircraft available for each mission (I'll henceforward refer to as "operating phase") and the frequency in which bomber squadrons flew each day. As you...

G'day Zoi, Got your message about the template. Unfortunately, I no longer have a working copy of Navicat (know I purchased it some years ago) or a functioning SEOW to check for what your asking about. Basically, I cannot read or properly identify the files used, which is essentially the refinement ...

Warg's Restriction Model If all a minefield does is prevent movement into/across the area, then there doesn't need t be any IL-2 support made for it. If SEOW knew about such things, then they could simply be placed on a map in the MP, and SEOW would know to track any plots up to the edge of the min...

As I've indicated earlier, most minefields (at least those in the desert) were marked for friend and foe alike. They were essentially a barrier to exclude an enemy, offer a passive defence and sometimes assist in channelling forces in an intended direction. Likewise, minefields at sea were often aro...

G'day, Interesting talk on minefields and worth a look. First off, I am personally of the opinion that gentlemen's agreement on where things can be plotted or moved, are not worth the paper it is written on. In war, I am not a gentleman and nor are you. Get over it! In SEOW campaigning, I have frequ...

Hitcher and Flatspin I certainly will be available to assist. The winter westfront Map 44 would be fine for a late Oct early Nov43 scenario. The Fall Gelb map that we are using now is similar to this map and it is great for 2 hour missions. Putting the template together should not be a problem in o...

G'day, I was asked the other night to write a brief blurb on this. Well here goes: The original template for this goes back a fair while, when only that particular Normandy map was a "half decent" representation of what I wanted the scenario to illustrate. If the WestFront 44 map was avail...

Thanks 4Shades, Bugger, I don't like that particular exception, but I think we can live with it. Maybe it could still work if it doesn't interfere with the operation of artillery weapons (like anti-tank guns) on or in the area of the plate. Just means that the artillery cannot be loaded or transport...

Uses for Industrial Plates.

G'day, I'd like to explore the possibility of using the industrial plate for another purpose. Thinking outside the square so to speak. As we're all aware, its downwright imposible to create a campaign (or scenario) that encompasses the millions of fighting men on the battlefield to the nth degree. P...

Am not sure what version of IL2 you're using. Hawk5 has pointed out the SEOW issues. Pleases note that there are game issues with ordering in your flight when attacking ground targets and ships. This has largely been resoved in HSFX with recent patches.

G'day 4Shades,

Did the Singapore and Marianas map industrial and fuel coordinates data make it in?

With the outbreak of war in the Pacific, the RAF sent out four squadrons (Nos. 17, 135, 136 & 232) to reinforce Malaya, Singapore and Burma. All flew Hurricane Mk.IIb's. RAF 242, 258, 488 & 605 Squadrons, also flying Hurricane IIb's were sent out later when it was apparent that things weren'...

G'day all, Not sure whether there is already someone building the Midway battle template or if the cordinates have changed from the older map, but I have an existing one which is fairly close to scale (both area and units) on my hardrive. This encompases USN Task Forces 16 & 17 and the 1st Carri...
