Re: Rest in Peace, Peter Millar.
Although I didn't know him very well I always thought of 5 as the guy who keep things on an even keel. Most of us can be cantankerous at times but I never recall an instance where 5 was not courteous, thoughtful, and rational, a rare bird indeed. For his friends here I offer sincere sympathy for you...

HSFX was checked and no errors are being reported during mission build. I'm dealing with novice planners but I don't see how they could screw it up. I check to make sure they have planned all their flights and the MP reports the missing flights had been planned. I'm going to look and see if their is...

Planes not being added to mission file
Does anyone know why planes that were planned in the MP would not be generated in DCS. They are all at a specific resupply point and are always plotted as AI only. I'm not doing the planning but I can't see how that could be the problem. I checked the reserves and they are set to 1000000. Other than...

Limiting the Percent of Fuel at at a Normal Airbase
Is there a way to limit the amount of fuel that can be loaded on planes at a normal Airfield?

I'm not sure that AA firing on ground forces is a problem. Think German 88mm flak guns famous versatility. There are many other examples of AA having a significant effect on ground forces but you get the idea. The problem is that AA is often too effective against ground targets and the adjustments n...

Fog of War is like Radar. It uses the ships and you specify the height and range for objects to appear on your map. There are two classes of ships large and small and you can specify the range for each. You can also select it to show or not show enemy, friendly, your own plane or any combination the...

XAMPP is a reasonable option. Security is a concern if hosting on your local network, but you can deal with it. If you hosting on an XP machine you will have to reboot it fairly frequently, not a big deal but can be annoying. I hosted on my local network for a few years but found it to be a lot of b...

As I stated earlier our research for indirect fire indicated that an artillery shell needed to land within a meter of a trench in order to inflict causalities. As for bombing their are many examples of heavy bombing in which the main effect was to produce rubble for the enemy to hide in while the cr...

I really like the idea of having to order entrenchment as it would take a long time to actually dig a fortification and you would get one mission without them being protected. In defense of the current system our studies on the effectiveness of artillery showed that very few entrenched infantry were...
