Kyushu mapping support plus data received from Goanna. This new sector will appear in the impending release.
Hawk_5 is also producing Berlin mapping support for SEOW, also due to appear in the new release.
Cheers,

PS: I am happy with the current development DCS. Just a couple of more minor issues to iron out, then cross-platform DB testing to go. This is a big release, with some very challenging features for the more daring commanders.

I have a functional but not yet complete map of online Italy...For some reason the MP freezes my browser after the admin adds units to a supply points...strange...empty supply points and it loads fine. DCS had no problems with it.
Anyway other than that, it just needs tile codes and I have used airbases that were "close", so it needs the proper airbases data too.

I'm hoping to have Italy finished this weekend. Either way I'll send you a package end of the weekend or early next week. Yes roads are done, bridges are nearly finished. I don't know how to do harbours, but there are 3 or 4 of them that might be worth doing on that map. two of them are very large with gun placements and one with what looks like sub pens (in Cagliar, limone, Genova, and Napoli has the pens).
BTW, this 4.08 patch is funny. fly low and slow with your landing gear down and hunt bicycles! Hit 'em in the head with your wheels..hehehe

Just a progress report:
JAGD_RC's Italy support for MP made it into the 3.1.0 release
WTE_Goanna's Kyushu support made it into the 3.1.0 release, and I have just received an extremely comprehensive and polished set of MP pages for Manchuria from Goanna.
Meanwhile, after completing North Sea and Berlin, II/JG77Hawk_5 continues work on Balaton.
I think that the next patch update will contain Manchuria and Balaton, making 34 maps in total.
Cheers,

There are 3 files that need to be edited, MP-Admin.php, MP-Connection.php and default-green.php. I have added a Ukraine sector to my SE setup for a new sector that I am working on. Let's look at each one;II./JG1_Krupinski wrote:How do you get a new sector to show up in the MP main page?
FIRST: backup these 3 files
MP-Admin.php
Towards the top of this file look for these lines, insert your sector in the appropriate place, mine is Ukraine so goes at the end of the list;
// Super-secret HTML content goes here
// First we start by defining the sector maps to gather DB connections for
$map=array("Ardennes","Crimea","Berlin","Cyrenaica","Guadalcanal","GulfofFinland","Hawaii","Imphal","Italy","IwoJima","KhalkhinGol","Kuban","Kurland","Kursk","Kyushu","Lvov","Manchuria","Marianas","Malta","Midway","Moscow","Murmansk","NewGuinea","Normandy","NorthSea","Okinawa","Oslo","Ostfriesland","Prokhorovka","Singapore","Smolensk","Stalingrad","Tunis","Ukraine");
?>
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MP-Connection.php
The connection data is in alphabetic order so navigate down the list to where your sector should fit and insert - Ukraine goes at the bottom;
<?php
//written by MP-Admin.php
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
// Here is information on how to define the database connections, e.g. MySQL or Access, for each sector.
// The idea is to associate each sector with a different SE database, so your MP can display information
// for many different campaigns simultaneously.
//
// Below there are sections describing the MySQL and MS Access connection formats in detail. How your MP
// is set up is entirely up to you. Large on-line SE wars may want to use different databases for each
// sector, while small intra-squad wars may just use the same database for all sectors. Remember, a single
// SE database can only hold a single campaign at a time.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
$DefaultDBCon = array("mysql","localhost","3306","seadmin","perth","SEDB31");

default-green.php
There are 2 areas in this file, the first area defines the Sectorlink, it's in alhabetical order so navigate down to where yours should fit in and insert. Then determine which region you are going to put your sector, in my case I've put Ukraine in the Eastern Europe region, navigate to where you want to insert your sector eg in my case imediately after Stalingrad and insert there.

MTO-map
I started working on the "MTO" map from the 4.09b Beta-Patch (I'd really like to see this map in SEOW ).
I finished capturing the data for the roads, but I am not sure whteher I understood the tutorial in the first posting correctly.
So in the mission file these "roads" consist of nothing else but the starting- and end-node and if I remove these two (as I understood from the above quoted) effectively nothing remains from these road pieces.
Is this correct and ok, or should I do anything to avoid this?
Thanks for your efforts
Chamel

The point is, that on the above map, there are several short road pieces, that have NO curves and are so short, that the FMB doesn't add any nodes.IV/JG7_4Shades wrote: How to Capture Roads and Railways

Hi Chamel,
Wow, that is great news. I haven't even seen that patch yet.
On road capture: when you click a waypoint in FMB, it is a human-entered waypoint (code 120). However, all "road nodes" are machine-entered (code 20, or negative for bridges). SEOW is mainly interested in machine-entered nodes. It is perfectly permissible to have road segments with only two nodes, as you have found. When I said delete the first and last nodes, I was trying to say "get rid of your human-entered nodes". Does that make sense?
In general, machine-entered nodes lie on a 100m grid of coordinates, so each x and y coord should end in "00". For example, "334500 12600".

The patch just arrived some hours ago and is still Beta - but I think the maps won't undergo any dratical changes anymore.IV/JG7_4Shades wrote:Wow, that is great news. I haven't even seen that patch yet.
If you want to check it out, you can find links in one of the following postings:

Well, that was my question to you. I am afraid, that it makes no sense to delete the two human-entered nodes from a road segment that consists only of just these two nodes. I think, that your DB query can not find a road segment, that has left NO trace at all in the highways-table - but maybe I am wrong.IV/JG7_4Shades wrote: It is perfectly permissible to have road segments with only two nodes, as you have found. All my human-entered nodes were within 2 meters from such a 100m grid point, so I rounded all nodes to 100 meters and they all are "perfect" now. So if that's the only problem with human entered nodes ... problem solved"IV/JG7_4Shades wrote:In general, machine-entered nodes lie on a 100m grid of coordinates, so each x and y coord should end in "00". Hi Gross,
Well, Balaton (Hawk_5) is under way, as is Kiev (Goanna) and the new MTO (Chamel). I am not sure of the new maps in the 4.09 patch, but I would be keen to see any map that contained significant combat in WW2. Was Slovakia the scene of significant combat?
Note that Pacific maps are normally easiest to add because of the large amounts of water (no infrastructure to add).
Cheers,
