HSFX v4 released

Post by 242Sqn_Chap »

This has been about 5 months in development. There have been many improvements.
Its 4.09m native.
And uses fully compressed IL2 SFS archive architecture so there has been a considerable improvement in performance.

Read me and also torrent download links for those interested:-

Shades has helped us a lot with this :) (thanks Shades !)

For my part, I think HSFX4 is a tremendous advance for the IL-2 simulation community, and Charlie deserves medals for his effort in championing and coordinating this great leap forward. With HSFX4, campaign simulations become very realistic, with infantry forces, reworked armor, tremendous attention to aircraft, and a range of great features for in-game and out-of-game immersion.

There is good reason why I am happy for SEOW to work closely with HSFX4, so I recommend that people check it out. And, of course, HSFX4 contains great improvements for non-SEOW simming too.

Cheers,
4S

As Shades, I send many medals to Charlie, now we can say: There're HistorySFX and the others games.

History seems like an original game, a new game indeed. Many pleasure in the future between SEOW and History. Thanks to you my friends ;-)

Sounds good.
Really love it if the loading times have dropped to under half a minute.
Downloading... for a week on my network connection....

in final version of HSFX v4 it seems that the mod_slot_coop mod is included in java but there is no corresponding folder in root of il2 install - meaning that the people who installed HSFX v4 over clean 4.09m will be able to pick only red airplanes in coop missions.

solution is extremely simple:

in your il2 installation folder create a folder named
mod_slot_coop

inside that folder create a txt file named ARMY_USER.txt which will contain only 3 lines:
B
R
1

You can also move it as a enabled modOFF with JSGME. There will be no problem if you have Rogerfederer or Barakobama in your mission ;-)

- Create a EMPTY folder "Mod_slot_coop" in the main game folder as cmirko said but empty

- In the folder jsgmemods create another folder Mod_slot_coop_OFF

- In this Mod_slot_coop_OFF folder, put a new folder "Mod_slot_coop" in which you put the " ARMY_USER.txt" as cmirko's model.

Then you activate (put to right) this new OFFmod with JSGME to remove it
When put it on left, the mod Slot Coop is enabled again

The zip to unzip in your main folder: HERE
--> ARMY_USER.txt has to be modified as you want (B, R, X, Y...)

Finally got all the files downloaded and got to install the beast.
Thats incredible work you guys have done!

Loads just like a normal IL2 version! And it runs much faster fps also then the AAA modpack does.

Any hope of a few Kapteeni's new maps to the HSFX mod?

Also heard that Opex is making a new lighter Finland map.

Those screenshots look beautiful. I heard that Paddington is looking at making a Karelia map too.

I would advise that the map builders talk to Charlie at www.242sqn.com forums to coordinate their work with HSFX updates. This SEOW forum is not the best place to talk to the HSFX4 developers.

Cheers,
