Ships and artillery limited?

Post by EAF331_Starfire »

Due to the size of a map I have reduced artillery to 50% but does this limit ships as well?

Reduced in what way? Speed, Normal_Group_Strength, Supply?

Sorry. Bad post on my part. It was very late here.

In the SEDCS it is possible to reduce historic artillery ranges. Which we/I have been done due to the maps size. In our case we reduced it to 50%
But I was wondering if warships heavy guns get the same limitation?

There is no way to set naval gunnery ranges using SEOW (or FMB which is how SEOW interacts with IL-2).

It is possible to alter ship gunnery ranges via a Mod, but that is not relevant here.

Oh, and by the way, the engagement range setting in SEOW merely changes the range at which a given unit will open fire. It may actually shoot at longer ranges after it has commenced firing.

Cheers,

Thanks 4Shades.

I had my suspicion about that, but thanks for confirming it.
It is nice to get an experts opinion

We begun an campaign on the Mediteranian map (Africa-Italy-Greece map). Where the allies are crawling up the Italien boot. Unfortunately the map is than 1/4 scale. Due to this we had to change a lot of setting in the SEDCS in order to get a more realistic enviroment.

The map is beautiful, but as the the campaign progress the planners and pilots are getting more and more annoyed. I think this should be a warning to others of using mpas of less that ½ size if there are ground movements.
