The idea is to allow commanders to select different styles of dug-in entrenchments for infantry and artillery units, instead of the single weird arrangement we have now. Devill gave me some nice layouts that I am working on.

I have had a look at the Chiefs log produced by TD412 in the SEOW folder of the game. This log records the locations of all Chiefs at the coop mission end.

I compared SEOW's conventional estimation of ending location versus the new Chiefs log. For a simple straight tank path run over 34 minutes with no combat, SEOW and TD412 matched endpoints to within 0.002%, and for a destroyer steaming over open water, the two methods matched to within 1% over the same period. Over a short test just involving a mobile tank driving for 184 seconds, the tank distances matched to 0.07%.

That is reassuring, but the point of the new TD method is that it gives the true information regardless of combat delays, traffic jams etc. SEOW7 will have a facility to make it optional for TD endpoint data to be incorporated into the battlefield updates.

Can you make sure that SPGs pivot when stationary by just moving them 0.5m or so in each mission?

I'll make that optional.

Hi Riksen,

A couple of comments:

*) When displayed on the Windows desktop as shortcuts, the shortcut arrow element will be overlaid on the bottom left, obscuring anything there in the icon design.

*) Most probably, the maximum size of icon used by people on desktops will be 48x48, most probably only 32x32 or smaller. Fine detail will not be visible.

Cheers,

why not to keep the HSFX7 icon and replace HSFX to SEOW7?
It would give a homogeneity to the 7' series ^^

It is a balance between size and clarity. Not easy to do.
