Is this doable?

Okay, we are getting down to the nitty gritty here. Before anyone wonders, 'why would he do that?' Let me give you an idea of what I am trying to accomplish.

I am trying to perform a non-historical campaign. Side will get to pick resources (planes, tanks, etc) from the entire IL-2 force pool with little restriction, basically say timeframe.

At the first round, noone controls anything, except carriers/fleet and must start off by taking control of one or more of the airfields. And of course, defend this first few operations.

From there, it's all about control of land.

Can you launch operations from resupply points? Can you move them? Or is it better to make a floating airbase(s) only to be used as this jump off point?

Secondly, how limited are we in giving planes to both sides? I.e. can spits go to the axis? In Admin resupply, there are lists for each side, but these lists are limited to blue/red and they don't mix.

Hi Raven,

1/ You can launch operations from supply points, yes. For aircraft, simply treat them as airbases. Flights will be given air starts. For ships, as soon as ships are commissioned at the supply point, make them a task force and given them movement orders immediately. Ground units also work from supply points.

NB: there is currently a bug with resupplying large numbers of ships at a single waypoint and making task forces from them, reported by RAF74_Taipan.

2/ Resupply points are not meant to be moved. But you can add your own resupply point definitions, just by adding unique records to the Resupply_Point table.

3/ The use of temporary airbases is also ok, but at sea you need to ensure that AI aircraft can taxi off the airfield without sinking.

4/ The default national alignments of aircraft, vehicles and ships can be changed. To make an object available to both sides, change its default alignment in the Object_Specifications table to 'n'.

Cheers,
