Hello,
I am having a problem getting my dcs connected to my mysql.
I have my website set up probably with db connections, I have my ODBC set up and verified it will connect to the mysql server.
I don't know what is up. I keep getting this error when I hit connect.
FYI I am on 64 bit xp.

Are you able to connect to your database using Navicat? Most common problem is that your IP is not set for remote access.

yes Navicat works fine.

Sorry, I'm just drawing straws here. Both your server Login and your database have the same name?
Our Server is SEOW but we have two databases, Slot1043 and Korea
I just went through access frustrations similar to your the last week...Good luck.

my host is... strange. I am sure it is not a firewall issue as I am unable to connect to my local server as well....
I should mention that the host allows remote connections from my IP.

just a thought, I tried to debug the ODBC and was unable to even generate a log file using tracing.
Do I need to set up a DSN for this program to function properly?

Hi deadfred,
I note you are using XP64. Please supply the ODBC version you are using. If youa re using the correct version, there should be NO configuration of the ODBC driver required.

I am using mysql-connector-odbc-noinstall-3.51.27-winx64
I tried running cmd as an admin (although not sure why this would make a diff as I am already logged in as admin) and ran install 0. It said it installed.
Verified that odbc was set up and connecting to DB still.
I also installed the 32bit version (MSI) with no luck.
FYI I verified that the files were put into the SYS32 not WOW64 folder.

Even MORE frustrating news.... So I couldnt stand it anymore and installed a copy of virtualbox (as my vmware is being stupid) and booted up a 32bit version of xp. Installed framework and the ODBC (32 bit exe version) and installed DCS, that's it!
I was able to connect right away no problems.
I think you may have an issue with 64 bit OS's here. I would be happy to help you further troubleshoot the 64 bit environment further if you ever release a native client.
Still looking for a solution as this virtualox was just temporary.
edit:
Just a note, When I connected via 64 bit to the DB from DCS, it immediately said no database connected.
When I tried to connect via 32 bit, it took a few seconds and gave several status updates and then connected.
Thanks!

Hi deadfred,
THanks for the information. This just goes to show that XP64 is a very different beast to Win7 64 or Vista64, because they work fine.

I have the same problem.
I'm using Windows 7 64 and odbc mysql conector 5.1.6, and I can connect to Bd with Mysql front, but not with DCS.
Of course host allows remote conection and I have authorized my IP. Son, I don't know what is the problem.

Hi slamelov,
odbc mysql conector 5.1.6
You must use 3.51.x, as discussed
here.
