Hello everyone, hello Padore,

352s´ Cross Channel map is out, there will be updates to it as it´s not really finished yet.
But basically the railways and and roads will stay as they are.

Is there anyone that wants to make it SEOWable? :D

Padore?

Bonjour Emil ;-)

Yes, it's a good idea. Could you answer to these questions:
- Is it a correct online map? (not too heavy)
- Is it a correct map for SEOW? Factories, fuel dump, railways stations?
- Does tga map exists? (Without names)

It's a big job. I guess around 100 hours ;-)
Perhaps a cooperative work? I can give to each volunteer the work to do: graphics, capture in FMB...

But we have to wait for the definitive map ;-)

--> To Shades: Roads and railways seem very numerous like in the Channel40/42 map. For SEOW map, would it be better to capture only main roads and railways? I think grounds movements would be best...

I have just look quickly to the map. I think we have to wait for the final version: Many big towns (as Southampton) are not populated, no industrials objects. When final version will be done, we will perhaps modify the actors static file to obtain a SEOW online map (as I did for France map)
If you want to begin work, you can capture all airbases, I think they will not change.
1) Look at each airbase to choose the best heading for taking off. (specially for bombers)
2) Put 3 way-points, 1 take off, 1 in flight, 1 landing.
3) Do it for all airbases in the same .mis file or better 1 mis for England and another one for France and others countries.

In 2-3 days there will be an update on this map.

In I think we´ll also have an Ultrapack update for Canons map which uses 8bit textures. Should make the whole thing a lot smoother.

I´d wait for that and it´s only 2-3 days anyway.

Now can you define the optimal take off direction for bombers?
I would think it´s opposite wind direction, which we don´t have in IL2 but it should be West, but you might think of something different.

Heading take off: Just look relief, mountains or buildings in which bombers crash. Choose the best heading: When you see 2 points (cross)airbase in FMB, you have 2 possible headings, choose the best one

Texture's changes have no importance for SEOW.
These points only have importance:
- Roads, railways, railway stations.
- Airbases location, take off and landing points
- Industrial location (3 chimneys objects for factories, fuel dumps)
- Tile map codes (destruction codes)
- Bridges
- Routes blockages

The Final release of the 352nd Map was issued Friday. It includes fixes to both the 352nd Cross Channel Map and Cannons Chanel 40 Map. Here is the discussion thread

Below are links to the direct download for the map for those that are interested. I can't wait to get this one into SEOW

Also there is a Biscay Bay Map that is 1:1 scale

Are this map supported by the seow planner?
What are the scale: 100% or like Channel 1942 (75%)?

102nd and EAF have been working on a Operation Crossbow campaign for this the Channel 1942 map. But I have been a bit irritated by the quality of the airfields on both sides and are affraid that it will subtract from the immersion. Flying from several airfields on CrossChannel(352nd) map are sore sight for my eyes :D
