Damaged carriers

Hi

Some friends are planing a SEOW where carriers will be used and are also targets. The question is if the damage inflicted on the ship is "stored" along the campaign till it reaches the 4.000 kg bombs hits needed to be sunk.

Thanks in advance

Hi Loon,

There is no facility to auto-detect and store progressive damage on ships, basically because IL-2 does not support the logging of such events. All the people who have run campaigns this way have done it manually by having the admin record a track of each mission and look for bomb hits. The bomb hits are tallied by the admin, and when they reach a "destruction level" the ship is set as "destroyed" in the DB.

if a carrier is sunk during operastions, are the planes that were assigned to it also lost for good?

Yes, Frior, you get a big long list of sunk aircraft and the pilot who deals the killer blow gets the personal credit. :D

Same thing happens if you sink a ship that is transporting other units as freight - they all sink with the ship.
