New SEOW Release: DCS3, SEDB30, MP-v4.285

The SEOW Team is proud to announce the release of the latest SEOW system, including full support for "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946" objects. This release marks significant new ground for SEOW, with important overhauls for the DCS and for Mission Planner. Katana deserves enormous credit for his vision for the DCS (which despite the great changes is still only half implemented), while II/JG77Hawk_5 and =69.GIAP=PAVEL have been responsible for leading a significant effort in capturing data to support some new map sectors for SEOW.
Software Requirements
The new SEOW system requires the following free software installs:
Mission Planner v4.285
PHP4 or PHP5 (server side)
Internet Explorer 6/7, or Firefox with IE plug-in (client-side)
SEDCS3.0
MyODBC-v3.51.12
.NET Framework 2.0
SEDB30
The SEDB30-series databases are available either in MySQL4/MySQL5 or MSAccess2003+ flavours, and both flavours interoperate seamlessly with the other MP and DCS software components. Katana will release his SPLIT utility for SEDB30 shortly - the database now has something like 360,000 records in its full form, so the "Lite" databases are highly recommend for public server applications.
Backward Compatibility
This new release is not compatible with previous SEOW software versions at all. While it is possible to upgrade existing databases to SEDB30 standard, this effort is complex. Re-templating existing campaigns is recommended if access to the new SEOW feature set is desired. If you wish to use "IL-2 Sturmovik 1846" aircraft and tanks etc in a SEDB29-based campaign, it is appropriate to copy the new Object_Specifications,Object_Roles,Object_Costs tables from a SEDB30 database into the SEDB29 database. This will make the new objects available, but will not add any other new features to the old campaign.
Co-existence
The new DCS3 happily co-exists with DCS2 installs on the same PC, so you can manage your new and old campaigns from the same PC, if need be. The new MP can also be run in parallel with the old MP, but at the cost of an extra 65 MB of disk space.
New Features

MP-v4.285
*) Three new sectors: Imphal (Burma), Khalkin Gol (Mongolia), Marianas (Tinian/Saipan/Guam) (=69.GIAP=PAVEL, II/JG77Hawk_5,IV/JG7_4Shades)
*) Integrated rocket barrage support under Logistics: V1 rockets now fully supported.
*) Skinning support for MP and Statistics: the default skin is "green".
*) Improved handling of JG53 affiliations.
*) New Production Costs page, accessible with Options Screen.
*) Explicit linkage between factory production and reinforcements supply.
*) Improved industrial installations data and highways data.
*) Support for separate admin-imposed max fuel loads for Allied and Axis flights (II/JG3K.Brandle)
Plus, of course, numerous bug fixes in the various software components.
At the same time, IV/JG7_Warg has been hard at work developing new templates to take advantage of the new features and object listings. These will be made available at the SEOW home page shortly. Warg has been working with Hitcher and Mytzu on the "1946 Super Campaign" being developed by SE Xtreme. I recommend everyone to get involved with the Super Campaign, it will be a real milestone in international SEOW campaigning.
Cheers,
