Possible Bridge Database Error France Map

S~:

I think we found an error in the Bridge data on the France Map. We had targeted a bridge in the mission planner Bridge #433 (BA25) and #432 (BC25). The bridges were reported destroyed in the mission however on the stats page the mission reported bridge 434 and #435 destroyed. These bridges are located in a totally different location (AU22 for #435, and (AX21 for bridge#433). There was no way the bombs did not hit the proper bridge so I just wanted to pass this along maybe there was a small error in the table.

Is there a way to fix this ?

Hi Badger,

I just checked Bridge 433 in BA25 using FMB in HSFX4.2b2. Here is the relevant stretch of road:

263900.00 244100.00 20.00
263700.00 243900.00 20.00
263700.00 242300.00 20.00
263700.00 242100.00 -434.00
263700.00 240100.00 -434.00
263700.00 239900.00 20.00
264900.00 238700.00 20.00
264900.00 238500.00 20.00

This data matches Bridge 433 at the location specified inside the SEDB32G Bridges table. So, for HSFX4.2b2, Bridge 433 is in the right spot.

Here is the data for Bridge 432:

282500.00 243700.00 20.00
281100.00 242300.00 20.00
281100.00 242100.00 -433.00
281100.00 241500.00 -433.00
281100.00 241300.00 20.00
280300.00 240500.00 20.00

Again, this matches the Bridges table, so the bridge is correctly located by SEOW SEDB32G.

Now going to look in UP201... OK, confirmed issue with UP201. Here is the road data from UP201 for the bridge in BC25:

282900.00 244100.00 20.00
281100.00 242300.00 20.00
281100.00 242100.00 -435.00
281100.00 241500.00 -435.00

281100.00 241300.00 20.00
280700.00 240900.00 20.00

You will see that the bridge number has changed from what it was in HSFX4.2b2. Basically, something used in UP201 has renumbered the bridges over what was used in HSFX4.2b2 (for which your SEOW system is compliant).

Cheers,
4S

4shades:

We did some further investigation Ashes and Dore did a map fix for some of the bases for the online version of the France map. Basically they fixed some of the runways that were not usable. This is the version of the map we are using in the campaign. I was not aware of any new numbering for the bridges in this version but evidently this occured.

Somehow the bridge numbering is missing bridges that were not in the mission planner that are in the mapfile the bridges are located in Grid AA27 kp8 and and AB27kp 7. In the map that we are using the bridges are #250(AA27kp8), #251 AB27kp7, and #252 AB27kp5-9 is #250 listed in the mission planner.

I think this is the reason that the bridge sequencing may be out of order.

Anyway this is way above my paygrade, hopefully someone can answer these questions.

Aah yes, it was a third party mod that unfortunately seems to have changed some bridge numbering. Not to do with UP or HSFX per se.

I remember that I used HSFX4.2b2 to recapture New France map in 2010. If it could help you HERE ARE my captured files:
