Ship speed is limited by SEOW DB - easy to change. :)

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"

There shouldn't be a case where a tender puts down a flight of 3 to take off. Just singles, really. And yes, you do need to put the penultimate waypoint near the tender.

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"

That's what seaplanes do when they land, they cut their engines. It's normal. By the way Ikey, we have replaced the coastal guns with howitzers that will actually hit a target. The drawback is that they are soft to air attacks. Ikey if you add the camouflage nets (object 1140 Filet_VERT-F) to them i...

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"

We have replaced the coastal gun with 122mm Soviet howitzer, shoots out to at least 10 km.

Subs shoot torpedoes to just over 5 km range.

PTO bunkers may not actually hit anything. Check out the recent attack ranges thread.

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"

I tried to use a Ter-Hydro with a seaplane tender in FMB and an actual coop and it failed. First the AI cannot take off from water (with or without a tender) and I couldn't even start the engine of the Ter-Hydro when I flew it. An AI Ter-Hydro slaved to a tender would not even start its engines. So ...

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"

I think the tender needs to be stationary to deploy and recover a plane.

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"

Good idea. If humans can take off in the Alfs then we'll use them that way.

Re: Scenario 2: Zhitomir Order of Battle

Hi Untamo,

We haven't completed the initialization yet. But even so, there will be no more than 6 aircraft per side per mission, and visibility will be poor.
This is mainly a ground campaign. Priority is for commanders over pilots.

Re: Scenario 2: Zhitomir Order of Battle

Hi Bigans,

This campaign will have low aircraft numbers, in line with historical action reports and poor weather. We will probably use HSFX7. The delay in campaign preparation is because we are adding some new functionality to SEOW to make this campaign come alive.

Re: HSFX7 Attack Ranges

Thanks Emil, I didn't know that. I don't have decompiled java for IL2.

Even so, the performance I am seeing in-game doesn't always match the parameters you identify above. This could be java errors in the particular weapons classes etc. Together we are understanding more about this!

Cheers,
