Re: Parkers Crossroads Development Underway
Greetings. My next campaign will be set in the Belgian Ardennes during Wacht Am Rhein , which later became known as the Battle of the Bulge. The campaign dates are the 22 and 23rd of December 1944. The focus of the campaign is , as the name suggests , the battle on the ground for the road intersecti...

Parkers Crossroads Development Underway
Hey Guys, For those of you who found the Pacific much too hot , my next Learning Campaign will be set in the frosty mountainous forests of the Belgian Ardennes. Parkers Crossroads is a poor weather ground slugfest on Dec 22 and 23rd 1944. ...Feldwebel Zander shifted the weight of the MG34 on his sho...

Task Force 8 Leaves the Marshall Islands
...the sun over the Pacific falls fast , and it was doing just that as the final CAP flights of Feb 2, 1942 ran up their engines on the deck of the Big E. LtJG John E. Carson , the 20 year old farmboy from northern Michigan, was sweating in his F4F-3 cockpit , but not due to the temperature. It was ...

Re: The Mist Clears at Woleai
The waning sun was beginning to set over the Marshall Islands , casting long dark shadows across the water from the spotty but thick banks of clouds that were finally beginning to lift. The officers of the patrol gunboat Toyotsu Maru were just getting the fires caused by two Mk13 torpedos that had b...

The Mist Clears at Woleai
Rear Admiral Ray Spruance picked up the Marine Binoculars off the hook on the side of the flying bridge. Even the air was soggy with tropical heat. The cordite suspended in the air after the two hour bombardment made Spruance's nose itch - it always did. A hot sun beat through the thick clouds which...

Re: Possible explanation for TBD-1 problems
I thought it was worth relaying how I was able to fly a combat mission in this aircraft as some folks are having trouble with it. Firstly , I suspect that it is modelled to have a rather high mechanical defect rate as far as aircraft in IL2 go. It must be treated for what it is - an underpowered and...

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"
GreyKitten No Offense Taken , of course. When I said I wanted feedback , I meant it and I will note your thoughts and remember them for later. I don't think there is a unit which would consume less by moving than staying idle , but that is a query for 4Shades . The rate of consumption for an idle un...

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"
Hey Grey Kitten , I'll answer part 2 first. When you are setting up a campaign , as a campaign designer , you choose the "idle supply consumption" by unit type. You can also alter this rate of consumption during the campaign. In fact this is one of the settings that I made adjustments to r...

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"
Hey Greykitten,
I have no idea either if it is possible to set up separate Forums , or if so how to do it.
We of the USN have simply been using a combination of TeamSpeak and Private Messages.

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"
Okay Gentlemen , I have again tweaked the fuel consumption rates and the fuel loads of "some" vessels. I never claimed to be mathematically astute. I think these should be okay for the duration , and model the supply - command dilemmas I was hoping to represent. I think it best for the rem...

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"
Hey Luny, I did adjust some fuel loads and idle consumption rates. I will revisit this again if necessary , but ... My intent in design was that the IJN Commander would not be able to move all of the IJN ships , and would be required to allocate different types of smaller vessels to shipping fuel , ...

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"
Greykitten, As far as I go ( Campaign Designer ) you are welcome to join us for TF8 , but regarding commanding , there are commanders on board. NowThat being said they are both fine fellows and may take a learner underwing but you should approach whichever side you prefer by pm and discuss it. IV/JG...

Re: New Test Campaign "Task Force 8"
Hycel you will be welcome. If you don't mind we'll decide then which side to have you on. Please download and install the ...
