The light was still very poor at 5am. Axis forces tried an early ground attack strike but were foiled by terrible visibility. In the darkness some Allied forces infiltrated the front line on the northern outskirts of Korosten, causing some demoralized Axis armour units under heavy barrage to surrender.
Both sides are hoping for daylight soon.
