Anybody Home ?

Post by Kopfdorfer » Thu Apr 10, 2025 1:33 pm

Hey Guys,

How is the HQ gang ?
I have a question . What is the technique called used to hide the opponent aircraft types when signing in to
an online Coop mode game ?
I am a bit hazy , but as I recall it was a post script added on to end of the .mis file , and one had to be careful
as any change saved on the .mis file , erased the add on lines.

Help appreciated.

Hi Kopfdorfer,
Yes we are still around. I hope you are well and doing fine.

The feature you are referring to is the "Coop Mod Slot" mod that is available in HSFX. Once enabled, it is controlled by adding some lines at the end of the .mis file to specify what pilot callsign prefixes are valid for the red side and for the blue side. SEDCS has a checkbox that turns on these directives in the .mis file.

I can't be more specific because I am away from home for the next few days.

Cheers

Here is more information:

The SEDB contains a table called Coop_Mod_Slot. This table has two fields: Allied_Directive and Axis Directive. Each of these fields can contain up to 255 text characters including spaces. Each field is formatted as a (space-separated) list of pilot call sign prefixes that are relevant to either the Allied side or the Axis side.

By default these fields contain

Allied_Directive

Code: Select all

R =69.GIAP= IAF
Axis Directive

Code: Select all

B 22GCT 102nd
These default directives mean the following:
  • Any pilot call sign starting with either "R" or "=69.GIAP=" or "IAF" will automatically be regarded as Allied, so will only be shown Allied aircraft in the aircraft seat selection window in HSFX.
  • Any pilot call sign starting with either "B" or "22GCT" or "102nd" will automatically be regarded as Axis, so will only be shown Axis aircraft in the aircraft seat selection window in HSFX.
Obviously you can edit these fields to suit your own purposes. But this feature only works if you have selected the "Append Coop Mod Slot directives to mission file" option under "SEOW missions folder" on the Files/Misc tab of SEDCS.

Cheers,

And here are the last 3 lines of a mission file using this mod with the above default settings as an example:

Code: Select all

[MODSLOT]
R =69.GIAP= IAF
B 22GCT 102nd

I was trying to log into the HQ Mission Planner Maps to refamiliarise myself with what's there.
I can't remember how to log into a dormant sector map , ie what name and what password is generic ?
