Allied mission plans in and ready to go.

The CR42 lost to the seemingly invincible Illustrious was restored to air supply point.

Thanks,

Mission was hosted today with Warg, 4Shades and myself flying.

Good mission!!

Lots happening and great fun.

Stats are up on SEOWHQ MP.

I note the large loss of bombers Warg near the start. Maybe the airfield in question has a local landscape problem?
If its the same airfield as last time then I'm suprised as I thought that had been corrected.
Let me know so we can address it and also put units back into supply points.

Thanks,
Hawk 5

Hi5,

Yes it was rather hectic. I see the next mission is bad weather again. Anyway, I had four Ju-88's tasked to fly directly to the same airbase from the reinforcement pool. All were lost. Must be a problem with the topigraphics of the area and will consider the base unserviceable for the forseeable future. Guess I'll try to evacuate the few remaining Ju-88's to another base.

Regards,
Warg

Ive tested the Ju88 take off @ Licata & find that only a max of 7 planes will succeed from the NW'rn direction.Thats with 4 x sc500 + 100% ,Thunderstorms & cloud 500m. They run along the ground at least half a length again of the runway.
Tried t/off from reverse direction & 9 out of 12 crashed.

Yeah I found that by reversing that runway and making landings and takeoffs from the SE direction with a flight of four had no problems. When landing from NW they orbited to the north and hit the mountains. Plotting an appropriate heading after takeoff and the approach to landing may have a significant impact on behaviour here but once the flights start to go around its anyones guess.

Looks like the 3 flts of SM-79's that were scheduled for last nights 1900 mission are showing 'ready' for the 2100hr.
From memory they were

102 Gruppo Bat Sq 1 Sez 1 3x SM-79
" " " 1 2 2x "
" " " 1 4 2x "

Some where planned to t/o @ start & one flt delayed. Be good to find out why before I plan more disasters like the above.

Cheers
Ikey

Hi Ikey,
confirmed in the DB that the flights were planned correctly and while discussing with 4Shades he noted that low fuel at the airbase in question may have prevented them from taking off.
This was checked and confirmed to be the case so it ends up that the planes did not have the fuel to takeoff.

Its 1725 & I just worked it out & was going to post & see you've done same. Thanks 4 looking into it, now I need to work out how & why that supply drop next to it can be transferred to airfield. Cant find anything in wiki atm, so I wont have flts planned for tonight.

I've finished off Ikey's plots for the next Axis night mission. Should be ready to go over the weekend.
