TOKYO ROSE TRANSMISSION - M3
The Zero Hour on Radio Tokyo (NHK)
THE IMPERIAL FLEET UNDER ATTACK. FIRST SERIOUS LOSSES
In the Mariannas Islands struggle, Americans contend blow for blow and attack our fleet to the West of Guam.
Today 19 June 1944, at late morning, F6F Hellcat, armed with bombs, penetrate our defenses and intercept our convoy load of troops in navigation towards Saipan front.
Heavy losses:
Class 4 transport Kinou and 2 Steamer sunk with the loss of all their precious cargo.
Even a Kagero Class Destroyer is dispersed, not yet clear its last position.
The Air Defense promptly attacks the raiders, part of which, freed of the weapons, opposed validly our Pilots.
High losses on both sides.
In total U.S. Air Force left in sea 32 aircraft.
40 losses for Imperial Air Force.
Multi-engine reconnaissance enemies have been reported in the area.
Our brave Attack Forces, although at the cost of great sacrifices, sink a Kidd Class Destroyer and a TCC .
Soon other News at "The Zero Hour" on Radio Tokyo (NHK)
"Tenno Heika Banzai (天皇陛下萬歲 - long live the Emperor)!"
