What I thought was going to be a quiet mission full of rear-area relocations, immediately turned into a smashing assault of Soviet armour, breaking through the German lines in three places and causing havoc amongst transport units. German armour fought hard, but there were significant losses in the 1st SS Panzer Division opposed to the advancing 18 Guards Rifle Corps.
