Looking at the Horse-Drawn Artillery(howitzer) Transport capacity & they are 1200kg.
155mm Howitzer is 4170kg & 76mm Artillery 2420kg.
An equal number of guns & transports were placed into Supply Route Temp Supply Point Central.
Not sure if this is just a slip up or am I missing something in my calculations , but looks like I cant move any single guns unless I create Supply columns & then what's the use of horse drawn artillery transport.

It's just a matter of choice. I don't think we thought about this scenario when setting the default values.
Assuming each soldier weighs 140 kg (including pack, gun, ammo etc), then a 155m howitzer is equivalent to 30 soldiers. If we let a horse cart tow a howitzer, then it may also be able to carry 3 platoons (30 men) as freight.
These are the considerations we need to balance when setting weights. I reckon we out to have horses able to tow heavy guns. One remedy would be to reduce the gun weight.

Just thinking out loud, and have not been in this particular campaign.
What about designating different weight limits per transport unit per type of freight?
The transport object is of some type, e.g., truck, horse cart, train, etc.
Depending on transport type, it can pull/carry different weights of units
In your example, it would be something like:
Transport Type = Horse cart
- Max Supply (Fuel) Capacity = 1200kg
- Max Towable Arty = 2 pieces
- Max Infantry Capacity = 4 squads
This isn't a trivial update, but I think that's what you're getting at to resolve the issue if the guns should truly weigh that much.
