Please post here any bug reports for this SEOW release.

Remember, you MUST have .NET Framework 4.0 to use the new DCS.

Errors with Microsoft Net Framework 4.0 and DCS 3.2.22

Post by JG26_Badger »

S~4 shades:

I put in Microsoft Net Framework 4.0 as you instructed. Now my SEOW DCS 3.2.22 does not work anymore.

Here is the error I am getting Microsoft.Net Framework and the details from the errror message.

This means I can't build or analyze any of my current campaigns. I have reinstalled and unistalled Netframework 4.0 and still have the same problem. No problem prior to installing the Net framework 4.0

I was trying to get ready for the new release but now stuck. Help please.

Thanks

Hi Badger,

Yes it seems that .NET 4.0 is not backwards-compatible with 2.0. I guess there are some choices to be made:

*) Install .Net 4.0 and migrate your MP4public and all your campaigns to SEDB33A.

OR

*) Stay with the old SEOW until you are ready.

You should be able to uninstall .NET 4.0, and then hopefully SEDCS 3.2.22 will work again.

Cheers,

S~:

Ok here is an update for the previously stated problem, this is what I found after a long night of blury eyed debugging.

As previously stated I did all the update procedures to convert to the new database and new DCS, new MP, and by adding Net Framework 4.0. Then when I tried my old DCS 3.2.22 I kept getting the Windows Net Framework errors an not able to connect to mysql.

I have found that if you have you have multiple campaigns using the older version of the SEDCS and you want to install this latest greatest 4Shades release you need to do the following to get them to work properly (at least it works now on my system).

The SEDCS creates a path for the installation by default on my computer it was C:\Program Files\Scorched Earth Online War System
then it will put in about 9 files into that folder. Now if you want to run different or older versions of the SEDCS you need to create a seperate folder for your different versions of the DCS, so I created a folder called SEDCS 3.30 so my path is C:\Program Files\Scorched Earth Online War System\SEDCS 3.3.0 Now my 9 files for the newest version of the DCS are in this folder.

My older version DCS 3.22.2 has a seperate folder the path is C:\Program Files\Scorched Earth Online War System\SEDCS 3.2.22 This worked for me and no more errors when using the DCS.

Like I said it worked for me, hope this might be helpful to others.

Hi Gross,

Have a look at http://wiki-seow-en.swil.fr/index.php/F ... forcements for information on new factory objects. Basically you just define new types of installations in the Industrial_Installations table.

If your SEPIA images for the MP have not downloaded, you should be able to grab them either from the CVS tree or from the new MP patch file.

Hi Shades,

First thanks for the hard work and the new version!

I'm trying to merge 2 templates through the merger tool through the new planner.

I can use and select all the necessary files and info for all the fields except the date of the first mission. I cannot enter numbers or copy paste the numbers from notepad.

There is also no mention of which format the date needs to be which could be confusing for us Europeans.

Thanks as always!
Cheers

Hi Petr,

That date field is a Javascript program and should work on MP-compliant browsers. I wonder whether you have got the required Javascript library when installed ... I will check tonight whether the library was in the update patch.

Hi Petr,

The javascript datepicker code is definitely inside the MP4public patch zip file. Make sure you have a "jsdp" folder inside your "Merger" folder. It should contain 14 html, css and js files, plus an img folder and a CVS folder.

EDIT: Oops, forget what I said, the datepicker code is missing from the patch file. I will make a new patch file.

Please download and apply the MP4public patch to "v4.756A". THis contains better Merger and StalingradWInter support.

Patch applied and the tool for selecting the date is now usable! :P

However, another problem :D

I have both templates to be merged on my local machine. Using the 102nd server to merge.
when I selct the blue template first, red second, the blue units are correct in the mis file. The red seems to be missing coordinates for flak guns like the bofors.

I will send you the 2 templates and the merge result in an email.

Cheers!
Petr
