Context: The Java campaign, organized by =69.GIAP=, map Crimea.
Problem: Factories are destroyed but not the car inside.
Description:
When we bomb a factory with a pair of 500/300lbs bombs (A20-C), often the cars inside the factories survive.
We have made screen shots of the cars inside the destroyed factories, they are placed in a corner of the building.
After several offline tests with the car in the middle, and the car in the corner of the building we could conclude:
cars in a corner have a good chance surviving, cars in the middle are normally destroyed together with the building.
Solution:
Please place the cars in the middle of each factory.
We understand that fixing x-y coördinates for each factory can take some time, but destroying factories is essential in the strategie of a SEOW war.
Also, in my squad there is a lot of frustration about good bombing without positive results, which demotivates our bomber pilots.
Temporary bypass???
There is always the possibility to strafe the car in a destroyed factory.
Is this a valid factory destruction in SEOW ?
Does the software mark the factory as destroyed when we shoot the car with our .50's ?
Our squad is enjoying the seow/Java campaign and we appreciate the effort of the programmers and admins.
It adds a lot of fun to IL-2 and people are coming back to play this older game with seow-addition!
Best Regards,
Pion.

Hi Pion,
Thanks for your post. The target positions for factories and fuel dumps (i.e. where the target vehicles are placed) can be changed. Essentially the target positions were compiled by a SEOW developer (not me) placing targets in likely buildings using FMB. The positioning may not be perfect. Please feel free to modify them to your taste, simply by editing the Industrial_Installations table.
If you think you have compiled a better set of target locations, please post them here for others to use.
As far as SEOW registering target destruction, the registration is done purely on the presence of an associated destruction event in the logfile. It makes no difference whether the target is bombed, strafed or even destroyed by army/navy fire. It is perfectly permissible to destroy factories using MG fire - all you have to do is arrange for the target vehicle to be destroyed somehow.
Cheers,
