As best as I can understand over December-January, and based on YogyBear's interpretation http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthrea ... 795&page=2, I think this reads:

1st Ukrainian Front (of 2nd Air Army)

5ShAK
4GShAD: 90,91,92GShAD (Il-2)
264ShAD: 235, 451, 809, 6 ShAP (Il-2)

5IAK
8GIAD: 40.GIAP, 41.GIAP, 927IAP&88.GIAP (La5)
256IAD: 728IAP (Yak-7B), 91IAP (Yak-1), 32.IAP (Yak7B)

10IAK
10GIAP: 3GIAP&181IAP, 239IAP (La5)
235IAD: 201IAD aka 10GIAD: 13IAP aka 111GIAP & 437IAP aka 113GIAP (La5FN), 236IAP 116GIAP (Yak-1)

202BAD
32GBAP & 39BAP (Pe-2), 797BAP (?)

227ShAD
61, 241, 525, 567 ShAP (Il-2)

291ShAD
245, 954, 61, 241, 617 ShAP (Il-2)

208NBAD
620, 646 NBAP (R-5)
715, 719 NBAP (Po-2)

50RAP: Pe-2

4SanAP: Po2, Li2 (?)

1554, 1555, 1605 TrAP: Li-2, Tb-3 (?)

From this YogyBear draws the following net airframe totals for his own campaign purposes:

140 x La5F
40 x La5FN
40 x Yak1b
40 x Yak7b
80 x Pe2
300 x Il-2 with r.g. (10% 37mm)
100 x Po-2
60 x DC-3 (transports w/o gunner)

Note that fighters (260) are out numbered by bombers (380) with a further 160 recon+transport aircraft. I would be inclined to get the R-5 and Li-2 airframes in there in some proportion.

Certainly it seems the the FUF air force was sizeable, but we must remember that the weather was extremely poor so that would mitigate against large air actions.

Cheers,
4S
