Mission 1 and continuing momentum

Post by 242Sqn_Chap » Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:14 pm

As its turned out (pretty inevitably ) we are using these first weeks to test and debug the sectors and play the first missions. It has had to be this way because with the kind of loads (caused by number) that we have, some problems have only manifested by actually playing missions (eg Midway Freeze on Thursday...some analysis problems etc.)

A very achievable goal is to have all of the sectors with mission 1 played by the 4th of January. And then we can go into that week with the desired schedule for mission 2's.

Some days and times are always going to be difficult and its very unlikely that any player at all is ever going to fly in every single mission..but with so many sectors all playing like this its vital that we maintain a momentum and make sure that there is a constant stream of missions to play.

if your grandmothers aunts XXX is visiting.....and you ask everyone to stop, you are effectively asking over 200 people to stop flying.... there will be times that some missions are not as full as you would like them to be (so ask other friendly squads to cover, they will almost certianly be happy to back you up)... remember though every 'avoidable' halt in future is also going to cause every other player in every other sector to also have to halt play and wait whilst the delay catch's up.

So if we get problems in future we are going to have to be strict..and sometimes you may have to be flexible.

Is january 4th realistic for all sectors to be prepared for the second mission ?

Of course it is !

Libya is replacing Centmed on Monday 21st (server problem originaly but we will have two tomorrow !)

Crimea can be run on Sunday December 27th (Test sucessful today)

Kuban:- Can be run at a suitable time between now and January 4th. Please discuss this and come up with a day and time, there are not so many of you so its least problematic.

Midway:- Is slightly more difficult because of Israeli time and free days, I will contact the two sector CO's.
Proposed dates to re-run this:- 26th/28th or 3rd January.

The turnout have been Superb this week and the level of commitment has been astonishing ...the beginning is always the most difficult but we have run some very successful missions and solved the major problems that have arisen. The future is looking VERY good indeed I think. :)

OK, so just to recap:

21.12 > Lybia
26.12 > Midway
27.12 > Crimea
??? > Kuban

If this is OK for all, please say so so we can all notify our squads about the scheduling. :)

Is there some sort of Master Calendar that can be consulted for all changes to the schedule? I have the PDF that Gross put out but some events have been rescheduled.

Kuban will take the plunge this coming Wednesday evening, December 23rd at 2130 EST (GMT-5). Our second official mission will be flown on January 7th at 2130 EST (GMT-5), which will put us back on a regular Thursday night schedule. I have discussed this with the Axis team and they have agreed.
