Night missions
Hail all Pelican Commanders!
With the sky getting very dark and the weather... hmm.. not so good, what is the consensus of continuing into the night?
Would you like to clock advance till next morning or continue on?
I thought it timely to ask before planning continues.
Thanks,
Hawk 5

I am happy to continue flying into the night, but will abide by the majority decision either way. Perhaps, if we fly at night, we should limit the use of single-seat aircraft.
Also, I am now having a holiday away from home, so I cannot build or host until probably Thursday or Friday. 5, if you have access to HQ, feel free to download the DB and build/host/analyze if people want to fly.
Cheers,
4S

I'm happy with nights, cant get anymore lost than I do now.
Night time has approached us with out any real concern for rule changes, its a fictional campaign , & the conditions we've flown under have been quite testing but fun.We did limit use of single seaters in Taifun & concentrated on high level bombing of strategic targets. Only problem I see is the 2:1 (Red/Blue) advantage in no. of factories. With a lessened defense of these , & a possible concerted effort against them could bring about a quick & major change to the campaign.
If we did some clock advances & say run 3 night missions, 2100hr,0000hr ,0300hr & 0500hrs starts next day there shouldnt be a problem.
Question is how many flts of lone single seaters do we want to put up for defense, do they stay in own area & should Sydavians have more due to more factories+ airfields to protect ?

TS discussion tonight these are the simple night rules for mission 2300, 0100 & 0300hrs.
Night Missions
Max 12 planes per mission for each side.
(EDIT) Max of 4 fighters .
Fighters single plane per flight & must remain within its determined front line.
Ground units still 30 max but no armour advancing past front line.
cheers

Just a further bit of clarification after TS chat.
Due to the actual darkness now in HSFX6 the 21:00hrs should also be considered night. The 19:00Hrs starts in daylight but ends in darkness so maybe that remain a day mission but for the DB to be checked for night conditions ensuring that fires are lit during this mission so planes landing late can see the runway.
Daylight rules
05:00Hrs till 21:00rs
19:00Hrs Daylight rules airfield fires on
Night missions:
21:00Hrs
23:00Hrs
01:00Hrs
03:00Hrs
As previously noted 12 aircraft only at night.
4 fighters in home territory only - frontline is the limit.
Bombers have no restrictions
No armor to advance further than current frontline positions (unless DCS says otherwise in mission outcome)
I take it this means spies, scouts and others forces can though.
