Re: Introducing meta-SEOW
Badger and I worked out how to run Iron Front (install using Play with Six but playing using A2:CO's inbuilt mod enabler) yesterday. I mounted the auto-generated seow arma map, put about 5 platoons on it, added High Command function and started ordering the formations about. Works a treat !. (althou...

Ground Objects Experience now also effects accuracy. This is what I was told about it by FC. Its not written anywhere, it was only because I was able to chat to him for a couple of hours at Zagreb airport earlier this year that I know about this at all. Rookie:- Should be less accurate Normal:- Abou...

So this is directly used with artillery barrages and if the spotter waypoint is set to the barrage point and your circling above, the object hit accuracy goes up? Its not linked to artillery barrages which could be a little confusing. That is something that we added in hsfx and this is a default 4....

Support for the new Waypoint type for aircraft in 4.12, Artillery Spotter. The way this works in il2 itself is that the spotter aircraft reduces the inaccuracy offset factor spread (its randomized) for all artillery type objects within a radius of the Artillery Spotter WP aircraft. Works for both ai...

Multiplayer: ARMA2: 70-80 humans practically in COOP (depending on hardware), 230400 theoretical limit (144 * 4 (144 groups per side, 4 sides * 400) humans, depending on number of slots/soldiers created as playble in mission CMBN: 2 humans (commanders) + large numbers of AI actors (probably about a ...

Maybe this has got too involved in detail too quickly ?. The thing that stands out really is the potential willingness to use other games, it could be any of many.... to resolve aspects of a campaign. Seow is a great campaign overlay but it need not limit itself to just input from il2. Justus alread...

(Arma IIOA etc is Ok...I have them.) However I do have reservations:- The scale that is possible in Combat mission is also possible in ARMA2. Not in the ARMA II I have it isn't. Arma has performance issues with large numbers of anything. It always did, its better now but not good. Its other weakness...

The Arma II engine is superb.... But I woud say its the wrong scale for a 'seow' kind of approach. Its a FPS shooter, you are one person...or at most you can take a vehicle. You can control upto 12 ai (or about 3 vehicles...) but the scale of anything you were to play out in an Arma II type battle w...

This has been about 5 months in development. There have been many improvements. Its 4.09m native. And uses fully compressed IL2 SFS archive architecture so there has been a considerable improvement in performance.
